Visitor Privacy
TruckCost records visits to the calculator and FAQ to help the owner understand where visitors come from. The private admin dashboard shows approximate city, region, and country network location estimates, page views, and visitor session counts.
If the owner enables the optional location lookup, your browser requests an approximate network location from GeoJS. When enabled, GeoJS receives your network IP address to perform that lookup. TruckCost receives and stores only the approximate city, region, country, and rounded coordinates, not the returned IP address. No GPS permission is requested. If the lookup is blocked or unavailable, the visit is recorded with its location unavailable.
This visitor data does not contain your name, email, entered truck costs, exact GPS location, or stored IP address. Map locations are approximate and can be affected by mobile networks and VPNs. The dashboard does not link visits to registered accounts.
While a calculator or FAQ tab is visible, it sends an activity update once a minute to estimate how many browser sessions are currently on the platform. These updates do not add page views. A random session cookie expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. Visitor records are retained for up to 90 days; records past that window are excluded from reports and deleted as new visits arrive. Browser sessions are not a count of unique people.
We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. You can also turn off visitor tracking in this browser below. This preference is stored in your browser, so it must be set again if you clear browser data or switch browsers.
Visitor tracking is enabled unless your browser sends a privacy signal.
Registered account details and saved data are separate from visitor tracking. The owner can view registrations and remove an account and its saved truck costs, loads, and rate reports through the private admin page.
